The study

The firm in its current structure took shape beginning in the late 1970s when it strengthened its specialization in international law and, in particular, tax planning with assistance not only to individuals and corporations but also to sovereign governments. The advice to the governments of the People’s Republic of China and the Soviet Union related mainly to the development of legislation on joint ventures, free zones and foreign investment.

In other cases the firm has advised states and supranational organizations in connection with specific tax reform projects. The firm’s lawyers work daily with clients ranging from multinational corporations to banks.

1998 - 2001

Together with Sogei, he prepared a project to initiate the reform of the national tax system for Argentina.

1985

The Milan office is opened where international business is mainly conducted.

1995

Victor’s son Antonio Uckmar joins the firm, working primarily in the area of international corporate law.

The firm includes an articulate group of professionals specializing in various areas of law and economics.
Many members of the Firm are teaching assignments at Universities and Postgraduate Institutes and are called to technical commissions and organizations at the international level as well, including: Commission on International Commercial Practices, Commission on Taxation, Commission on Customs and Trade Regulations of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Instituto Latino Americano de Derecho Tributario, EATLP (European Association of Tax Law Professors), AIPSDT (Italian Association of Tax Law Professors and Scholars).

The firm is a founding member of ACBGroup, a network of more than fifty member firms that uses knowledge sharing through forums and communities of practice to strengthen its service offerings to clients. Thus continues the integration between professional activities that has been, since its establishment, a hallmark of the firm in its offices in Genoa, Milan, Rome, and Buenos Aires.
